Disclosure: I was sent complimentary products for purposes of review as an ambassador for the 2017 Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon. I was a Nourish Savannah customer previously and all opinions are my own!
I’m not usually a girly girl. I’m outside with the boys a lot and I work with small children, so I don’t lean toward a lot of scented products. Every now and then, though, I’m persuaded. I was introduced to Nourish Savannah bath products at the 2016 Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon expo since they’re a generous sponsor of the race. I was given a bath fizzie. Also known as “bath bombs”, it’s a scented ball that you drop in your tub water.
I was intrigued, so when I went shopping in Savannah later, I made sure to pop into their store on West Broughton Street. It’s filled with fun bath and beauty products! Two of my very favorite products that I purchased that day were the shower steamers and the salt scrubs.
These are SO cool. I’m not a frequent tub taker, so I love when I find something I can use in the shower. It’s a disc that you place in the shower with you. The steam of the shower helps release the aromatherapy of the essential oils inside the steamer. Choose different scents to help combat headaches, congestion and fatigue, among other symptoms.
This product is hands-down my absolute favorite that they sell. You rub two different salts on your skin to exfoliate the dead stuff off. After you rinse, you will not believe how soft and moisturized your skin is. Water beads up on my skin after I use this product. I’ve tried several scents and they’re so good, but the Southern Magnolia is the best I’ve tried so far. Hibiscus is a close second.
Now for the products that I was sent to review:
Y’all, I had to fight my teenage sons just so I could use ONE of the three that came in the package. The White Tea Ginger scent was nice but not too girly or strong. The scent was strong enough for me to enjoy but not so strong that I couldn’t sit in the tub for long. I did feel that it had moisturizing effects but the main thing I noticed with this product was the scent. And clearly I need to stock up on these.
The first thing I noticed about this wash is that the lavender scent is not what I expected. I was expecting a perfume-y lavender. This is a more natural, plant-based scent. I like it! It’s strong when you sniff it in the bottle, but it doesn’t leave a strong lingering scent on your skin. It lathers up really well and feels great on my skin! Lavender not your thing? There are nine other scents, including a baby shampoo / wash combination.
My first impression of this lip balm was that it wasn’t as firm as a typical lip balm. I wondered if that was a negative. The more I used it, though, the more I see it as a positive. The beeswax has a thicker texture that seems to last longer on my lips. I keep this on my nightstand to use before bed and I’ve been really pleased with how well it coats my lips.
This candle is perfect for the traveler who wants to make a hotel room a bit more like home! It comes in a tin container so no worries about finding a suitable surface for burning the candle; it’s ready as-is. This scent is a really cool earthy smell that I like. It’s great to keep next to the tub for added relaxation!
As I said before, I was a Nourish Savannah customer before I was sent these products to try out. It looks like I’ll continue to be a Nourish customer and add more to my shopping list! I’m all for any excuse to make a trip to Savannah, but my live-in financial manager might balk at an overnight trip to get more bath products. Fortunately, you can order online. In addition to Savannah, they’ve also got locations in Sandfly, GA, Melbourne, Fl, Hilton Head Island, SC and Pigeon Forge, TN. (And, y’all, I didn’t make up “Sandfly, GA”. It’s totally a place. Outside Savannah. I googled it.)
Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon and 5K
If you NEED an excuse to visit Savannah, though, (and really, who doesn’t?) you can register for the 2017 Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon! The race is April 8, 2017 and includes both a half marathon and a 5K. Despite the name, men are welcome to participate and there were plenty there last year! Use the code MMM and get $10 off your race registration – easy peasy.
Nourish is a proud sponsor of the Savannah Women’s Half Marathon and 5K. When you’re in town for the race, be sure to stop by their table at the expo. Better yet, make time to do a little shopping in Savannah and head into their store!
