Disclosure: I was given complimentary tickets to Disney On Ice presents Worlds of Enchantment for purposes of review. All opinions are my own. And bad camera phone pictures. Those are all mine, too.
Where: Duluth’s Infinite Energy Arena
When: Now through April 23rd
My youngest and I were lucky enough to catch a Disney On Ice show last night! This is our 2nd Disney on Ice show and what I love is that they use the same loved characters but keep putting a fresh spin on the show!
There is a pre-show dance party, so get ready to stand up and groove!
The show opens with Mickey and his pals, of course. They are taking their roadster out on a road trip and visiting all kinds of different places!
The first part of the show is a condensed recap of Toy Story 3.
The current show features the characters from the Toy Story films, The Little Mermaid, the Cars films and Frozen. As a BoyMom, I appreciate how it wasn’t all princesses, all the time, although my youngest is not entirely opposed. He specifically mentioned, though, how glad he was that the Cars characters were there.
Many children wore costumes to the show. This is totes okay for kids ages 14 and under. Sorry, moms, no matching princess dresses for you. But, feel free to sing along. I think my son wanted to die a little during the Frozen segment, because I was belting out every song. I certainly wasn’t alone, though, so don’t be shy. I loved the costumes for the “In Summer” number!
I have a noise-phobic child so I’m usually aware of the noise levels in an event. I felt like the music for the show was at a level that’s acceptable to most children. There is an ice rink, so, yes, be sure to bring a light jacket or sweater in case your child will be miserable if they are chilly.
There is an intermission and we had plenty of time to go to the bathroom and get a snack. One of my favorite things about Infinite Energy Arena is the FREE parking, and plenty of it. We skated in (see what I did there?) about five minutes before the show was set to start and easily found a parking spot. While it was a walk, I felt it wasn’t that far from the entrance. There is also a valet parking option for $25.00.
Overall, I think Disney On Ice is great family fun. If it’s been a while since your last Disney vacation and you need a little something to tide you over, Disney On Ice presents Worlds of Enchantment is just the thing. They are at the Infinite Energy Arena through Sunday and have evening as well as matinee shows!
