My little corner of the world is the lovely and historic city of Marietta, GA. I had no idea of the amount of Marietta summer camps until I started researching!
It’s the perfect time to start thinking about summer camps in Atlanta and I’m here to help narrow down your search a little.
General Cobb County Summer Camps
Start with Cobb County Parks and Recreation! They offer art, traditional summer recreation and sports camps. You can also register for swimming lessons while you’re there!
YMCA of Cobb County
There are plenty of locations from which to choose and the Y offers tons of programs for kids of all ages!
Marietta Summer Camps
The Art Place, Mountain View
This is a popular art camp located next to the Mountain View library off Sandy Plains Road. Various mediums are offered to children ages 2- 18!
Marietta / Cobb Museum of Art
Have an artist who wants to brush up on skills? These summer camps for kids 5-12 have fun themes that combine art education with hands-on skill building. There’s also a Teen Week, taught by professional artists!
All Fired Up, Sandy Plains Rd.
There are themed morning and afternoon sessions that allow you to sign up by the day or by the week!
School of Rock, E. Piedmont Rd.
Camps are offered for beginners who are intersted in guitar, bass, keys, drums or vocals. There are full day or half day beginner options as well as a songwriting class.
Winshape Camp for Communities, Johnson Ferry Baptist Church
Experience traditional summer camp activities in this day camp for kids who will have completed grades 1-6 by camp start.
Camp Wood Acres, Johnson Ferry Rd.
This camp is open to rising 3’s & 4’s as well as rising kindergartners through rising third graders. There are 7 weekly themed sessions.
Harrison Tennis Center
As part of the Cobb County Parks and Recreation system, Harrison Tennis Center is the county’s largest public facility and one of the busiest tennis centers in Atlanta! The tennis center is off Shallowford Road, near Lassiter High School.
Lassiter Soccer Camp
Lassiter High School varsity soccer coaches direct this camp for players entering grades 1-9. There is also an elite camp for high school players.
Pope High School
Summer Youth Soccer Camp
Morning sessions are for players entering grades 1-5 while evening sessions are available for players entering grades 5-9; 5th graders may sign up for either session.
This camp is for boys ages 8-15. There are three different sessions with each session lasting from 9am – 4pm.
This camp is for girls ages 7-14. There is one session and it lasts from 9:00am – 3:30pm each day.
Wheeler High School
Science Spectrum is open to rising 7th, 8th and 9th graders who have an interest in science and engineering. Students will complete a take-away project related to their area of interest.
Camp GAMES is for rising 4th, 5th and 6th grade girls who are interested in science and engineering. The students will attend hands-on workshops in the areas of forensics, chemisty, engineering and genetics.
